Don’t touch me, my body is mine
Noor Al Hayat Charity Society issued a book,to raise the awareness of children about sexual harassment issues, by Samy Al Jawady.
The book helps to raise the awareness of children in a simple funny way without any intimidation or fear. It also gives the child the courage to face these situations if they happened with him\her, it tells them how to say “No” in a loud voice, and how to tell their parents or any trusted adults about the issue.
In the book “Don’t touch me, my body is mine!” the twins Salim and Salima tell the children about their lively memories and how they learned a lot of funny, beautiful, and important things from their parents like that they are loved, precious, and valuable.
When they go to the market, or to visit some relatives, the children should be close to their parents because going far from them could expose the child to some dangers.
The children also have some private parts in their bodies and these parts must be handled with special respect “No one ever should see of touch these parts”.
The children should not go with any stranger to any place, and should not take anything from any one they don’t know.
If someone ever told the child “Remove your cloth!” they should shout loudly “No” and should run away to tell their mother, father, or a trusted adult.
The book also focuses on protecting the child in front of the psychological or sociological diseases and complexes which spread in our society and present a dangerous threat on the life and future of the coming generations. It also hopes to prevent future crimes from taking place, since similar crimes happen daily before us without anyone having the carriage to discuss them or think about their possible cultural and psychological solutions to prevent them from happening again in the future.
